Cycle For Uganda Fundraising

Our 2019 Fundraising Project

This year we will be supporting an orphanage project in Uganda which gives grants to those who are caring for orphans, and due to the popular demand, raising funds to install more water tanks and guttering.

For this ride we have teamed up with Westleigh Christadelphians in Leicester and will also raise funds for Eden House Care Home in Coventry. Half the money raised will be split evenly between the two Ugandan projects and the other half will go to help the Eden House Welfare Fund.

You can download a PDF file of the Sponsorship Form to help you with your fundraising.

Eden House Welfare Fund

Eden House is a care home in East Coventry and 50% of the money raised will go to Eden House Welfare Fund. This will help with the residents' social and spiritual lives by allowing Eden House to provide a wide range of activities such as visits to nearby places of interest, flower arranging, coffee mornings and movement classes. Through these and supplementary spiritual activities Eden House seeks to develop a strong sense of community among the residents.

Aid Projects in Uganda

The remaining 50% will be split evenly between our two Ugandan aid projects for the year. We help fund the installation of water tanks and guttering in Ugandan villages to provide a reliable source of water all year round. This helps not only with drinking water, but the irrigation of crops which allows communities to be more self-sufficient. Our other project is a fund that has been set up to help carers of orphans in Uganda, where the carers may apply for a grant to help look after those in their care. Both these projects are administrated through the CBM.

The cost of supporting these projects in Uganda is comparatively cheap - £1000-£1500 will cover the cost of a water tank installation and guttering - so even a small donation will go a long way.
